We are delighted to announce that the Right Reverend Paul Colton, the recently retired Bishop of Cork, Cloyne, and Ross, has agreed to become an Honorary Patron of the Festival. Bishop Colton was the longest serving bishop of his dioceses since 1617. Throughout, he was distinguished by his interest in historical matters and his active leadership, notably during the Decade of Centenaries, in commemoration and reflection on the past. This thoughtful influence was exercised both in public and private.

Paul has been a valued source of support and counsel to the History Festival since its inception and we are honoured that he has agreed to continue the connection. We look forward to his presence at future festivals and to benefiting from his advice for many years to come.
