We're celebrating Jonathan Swift at this year's festival, with the 300th anniversary of the publication of Gulliver's Travels falling in 2026.
Along with Hester Grant speaking about Swift's experiences in London in the summer of 1726, we're delighted that Adam Tomkins, John Millar Professor of Public Law at the University of Glasgow will join us in West Cork. He will speak on Swift and the Constitution, a lecture in honour of our friend and Festival supporter James Kingston.
Adam has teaching and research interests both in British and in comparative constitutional law. He also writes about British constitutional history and about the history of constitutional ideas.
