We're really pleased to be joined again this year by Myles Dungan, historian, novelist and broadcaster. Myles will be speaking about his forthcoming book, The Waterboys: triumph, tragedy and the two Irishmen who created California. It explores the story of William Mulholland and Michael M. O'Shaughnessy, the two Irishmen who 'created' modern California by bringing water, in hugely controversial circumstances, to Los Angeles and San Francisco.
In addition, to finish the festival, Myles will be interviewing Hester Grant and Adam Tomkins about Jonathan Swift, in the 300th anniversary year of the publication of Gulliver's Travels. This interview will be broadcast on Myles' RTÉ Radio History Show in the autumn.
You can get tickets to see Myles, Hester and Adam, and all our other fantastic speakers, on the ticket page of the website.
